Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Empower Rentals collects through this website, what we do with it, and what you can ask us to do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
When you request a rental appraisal through this site, we ask for:
- your name, phone number and email address
- the suburb or street of the property you want appraised
- whether that property is vacant, tenanted or newly built
- who manages it at the moment
- what you think it should rent for, if you choose to tell us
- when you are looking to have it sorted
We also record how you arrived at the site, such as which advertisement or search you came from, so we know which of our advertising is working. We do not ask for, and do not want, bank details, identity documents or anything else sensitive through this form.
Why we collect it
To prepare your rental appraisal, to contact you about it, and to arrange a time to go through it with you. If you ask us to manage your property, we will use the same details to get that under way. That is all.
We will not add you to a marketing list you did not ask for, and we will not use your details for anything unrelated to the enquiry you made.
Who sees it
Angie Patel and the Empower Rentals team. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with other agencies or lead-buying services.
Your enquiry is stored in Airtable, which we use to keep track of enquiries, and it reaches us through this website's hosting provider, Netlify. Both act as service providers on our behalf and store data outside New Zealand. We also use Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand how people find and use this site. Those services set cookies and collect usage data under Google's own privacy terms, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on.
How long we keep it
For as long as we need it to answer your enquiry and meet our record-keeping obligations. If your enquiry does not go anywhere and you would rather we did not hold it, tell us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. Phone us on either number below and we will sort it out. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Cookies
This site stores how you arrived here in your browser, so that if you come back later we still know which advertisement brought you. Google Analytics and Google Ads set their own cookies, as described above. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the site still works if you do.
